:  at  £78.00  each

A striking vintage studio pottery jug vase by Cornish potter Jacquie “Jackie” Durant, made at her pottery near Pendeen in West Cornwall. The tall wheel-thrown stoneware form has a wonderfully sculptural profile, with a flared asymmetric pouring rim, gently ridged neck and hand-painted abstract face decoration. Its earthy oatmeal, umber and charcoal glazes have a beautifully weathered, almost archaeological quality that suits both rustic and contemporary interiors. CONDITION Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. MEASUREMENTS Height: 25 cm Width: approximately 11 cm MAKER Impressed beneath with Durant’s “JD” potter’s seal and “CORNWALL”. Jacquie Durant established her own studio at Portherras Cross near Pendeen during the mid-1970s. Her distinctive stoneware combines traditional thrown forms with expressive decoration and naturally varied earth-toned glazes. A substantial and highly decorative piece of Cornish studio pottery, ideal for a collector or as a striking standalone display vase. Please study all photographs, as they form part of the description. Vintage items may show minor variations associated with their handmade nature and age.
