An original signed watercolour by award-winning British wildlife artist John Horton, dated 1989. This atmospheric painting depicts a family of European badgers foraging across a richly textured woodland hillside. Mature trees frame the scene, while the landscape opens into misty distant hills painted in delicate washes of blue and grey. Horton’s restrained palette and expressive brushwork beautifully capture the stillness of the British countryside. John Horton is a British natural-history and landscape artist who works predominantly in watercolour. His lifelong interest in wildlife is reflected throughout his work, and he has been closely associated with The Wildlife Art Society International. Horton has received several awards for artistic excellence, including the Christopher Parsons Award and the St Cuthberts Mill Award for best work on paper. Artist: John Horton Date: 1989 Medium: Watercolour on paper Dimensions: Approximately 31 × 43 cm Signature: Signed and dated “John Horton ’89” lower right Presentation: Unframed Condition: The painted image remains in good condition. Yellow masking tape is present around the outer margins from the painting’s previous framing, with some associated wear and marking to the paper edges. The taped margins should largely sit beneath a suitable mount when the work is reframed. The tape has been left untouched to avoid risking damage to the paper. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition description. The watercolour will be carefully packaged and posted flat.
