:  at  £65.00  each

A fabulous piece of vintage Czechoslovakian art glass, with glorious jewel-like colour and a wonderfully sculptural form. I picked this piece because the colour is quite extraordinary. Depending on the light, the heavy glass moves through rich raspberry pink, cranberry, deep purple and flashes of blue, all surrounded by beautifully clear glass. The design is equally striking. Thick ribbons of glass sweep upwards from the body to form a tall, elegant basket-like handle, while the sides curl and fold around the central bowl. It is a substantial decorative piece that looks completely different as you turn it. Best of all, the original foil label is still present, reading: BOHEMIA GLASS CZECHOSLOVAKIA The label is an important part of the piece and confirms its Czechoslovakian origin. This is the sort of vintage glass that really comes alive in sunlight. Placed near a window, the coloured glass throws beautiful pink and violet reflections while the thick clear sections catch and refract the light. A striking piece for a collection of Czech or Bohemian glass, or simply a fantastic standalone decorative object for a shelf, sideboard or sunny windowsill.
