Vintage 1960s Dahlmann Copper Vase – Scandinavian Modernist Design A fabulous example of 1960s modernist design, this striking copper vase is attributed to Dahlmann and features a beautifully sculptural hourglass silhouette, dramatic asymmetric rim and distinctive angular wooden handle. With its elegant curves and unusual geometric handle, this is a wonderful example of the Scandinavian-inspired design that became so popular during the mid-century period. The combination of warm copper and natural wood gives the piece a timeless quality, making it equally at home in a mid-century modern interior, a contemporary setting or amongst a collection of vintage decorative pieces. The copper has developed a lovely rich patina over the decades, adding warmth, depth and character to its already striking appearance. A beautiful decorative object in its own right, whether displayed alone or as part of a carefully curated vintage collection. Measurements - Height: 26 cm - Width at widest point: 9 cm (excluding handle) - Material: Copper with wooden handle - Period: Circa 1960s - Design: Attributed to Dahlmann Condition Good vintage condition with age-related surface marks and natural patination. There is one small, shallow dent measuring approximately 1.6 cm in length, rather than depth. This has been photographed closely for transparency, although the close-up image makes it appear considerably more noticeable than it is in person. I have deliberately chosen not to polish away all the lovely original patina, as I feel it adds to the character and charm of the piece. However, the copper could be brought to a much brighter shine with further polishing and buffing if preferred. Please examine all photographs as they form an important part of the description. A wonderfully distinctive piece of mid-century copperware, combining beautiful craftsmanship with bold, sculptural design.
