A wonderfully flamboyant vintage art glass vase in the dramatic Jack-in-the-Pulpit style. Standing an impressive 29cm tall, this unusual vase features a tall, slender, milky white glass stem with a delicate yellow swirl, rising into an extravagantly flared flower-shaped opening in vibrant emerald green and sunshine yellow. The sweeping, asymmetrical rim is finished with thick, clear glass edging, giving the piece a beautiful sculptural quality. Its bold colours and organic shape make it an eye-catching decorative piece, even without flowers. Jack-in-the-Pulpit vases take their inspiration from the distinctive curved hood of the woodland flower and have been produced by glassmakers in many different countries. This example has the playful, expressive character associated with vintage decorative art glass.
