  • £35.00

:  at  £35.00  each

A beautifully restrained hand-thrown porcelain vase by British studio potter and designer Marisa Arna. The vase has a tall cylindrical form, measuring approximately 21 cm high × 7 cm wide. The lower section is finished in a wonderfully soft pale blue-grey glaze, contrasting with the finely ribbed white porcelain above. A simple linear botanical motif has been applied to the front in a coordinating grey-blue, giving the piece a distinctly minimalist studio pottery feel. The original Marisa Arna label remains attached to the base and reads: “MARISA ARNA handthrown translucent porcelain” Marisa Arna established her ceramics studio in Essex in 1997 and became known for her finely thrown translucent porcelain. Her ceramic work was sold through galleries and notable design retailers including The Conran Shop and the V&A Museum shop. Arna's porcelain is particularly recognisable for its delicate throwing, subtle glazes and understated contemporary decoration. She later moved away from full-time pottery production to concentrate on jewellery design, making surviving examples of her ceramic work an interesting part of her earlier career. CONDITION Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple of small surface marks which appear likely to clean away. The original maker's label remains present on the base. Please see photographs as these form part of the description.
