A beautifully colourful vintage German ceramic vase with a striking glossy black glaze and expressive abstract decoration. The rounded body rises into an elegant narrow neck and wide flared rim, creating a wonderfully balanced silhouette. Vertical sweeps of turquoise green, soft blue and golden yellow flow across the dark surface, punctuated by little burnt orange accents and delicate pale rings. The combination of colour, form and high-gloss finish gives this piece a distinctive mid-century character, reminiscent of the adventurous decorative ceramics produced in Germany during the 1960s and 1970s.
